You are invited to enter two reversible and one conventional in the Championships.
PREPARATION BEFORE ARRIVING
Passport: A valid passport is advised for all visitors travelling from outside UK and Ireland.
Insurance: Competitors, coaches, judges, board members etc. are required to insure themselves against personal accident, personal liability, sickness, loss of baggage etc., for the duration of leaving home until returning home. If you are bringing your own tractors and ploughs with you, they will also need to have liability insurance.
Currency: Euro - Cash points along with debit/credit card payments are widely available. Most banks and post offices will be able to change money for you.
Vaccinations: Not required, not necessary
Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required for driving tractors or cars. Driving is on the left hand side of the road.
Electricity: Ireland power supply is 230/240 volts. Sockets accept only 3 pin plugs so an adaptor is needed for continental European appliances. A transformer is also needed for appliances operating on 110-120 volts.

Dublin Airport – 160 km
Transport will be arranged from Dublin Airport on Tuesday, 25th March and returning to the airport on 1st April. Please ensure you complete your flight details on your registration form or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Car Hire – Car hire can be hired through the following car hire companies in Dublin airport www.enterprise.ie
Our organisation will have a mini bus which will make transfers to and from the hotel to the ploughing site BUT we need each team to confirm if they require transport before arrival to email@example.com
Size of Plots:
Reversible plot size for competition days are 100m x 16/24m
Conventional plot size for competition days are 100m x 20m
Official Practice Plots:
One practice plot per competitor will be provided for Official Practice. Official Practice days are Thursday and Friday. Plot sizes will be no less than 20m wide, 50m long.
Unloading of equipment is possible at the marshalling yard and there is room to park a truck. Unloading ramp available. If a team require a crane to unload a container please request by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will hire – payment must be made for this service in advance.

Do not start any practice before your plots have been pointed out to you by the Practice Marshall in charge. No practice is allowed outside the designated hours or plots unless allowed by the Head Stewards.
Competitors will be issued with the loan of sighting poles for the Championships.
Draw for Practice Plots: The draw for practice plots will take place on Wednesday, 26th March at the Ferrycarrig Hotel.
Briefing of competitors: After the draw for practice plots the competitors will be briefed with information regarding the practice fields and about rules and infringements. The responsible teams for the Marshalling yard, Practice Marshals, Plough Inspection team and Head Stewards will be introduced. Competitors must attend. Coaches and Judges are advised to attend also.
Safety: No extra persons allowed on tractors. It is not permitted to carry any passengers in the cabin of the tractor. Only the competitor is allowed to drive/ride.
Please be aware of safety risks. Usage of safety goggles is obligated. Sharp upstanding coulters must be shielded. When working on the plough, the plough must be secured or indirect to the ground.
Marshalling Yard: The marshalling yard is situated on site. During the program it will be open according to the time schedule. Tractors will be parked on site. A small workshop is available on site with grinders and welders. A mobile workshop will also be available for hydraulic hose repairs.
Practice fields: The official practice fields are located beside the competition field – 1 km from marshalling yard.
Un-official practice: The host organisation is willing to assist in arranging unofficial practice plots (50 Euro per plot) on a first come first served basis. For details, please email email@example.com
Clean equipment: Bring clean equipment. If you borrow or rent any equipment, please clean it before handing it back.
Prepare for return shipment: Monday, 1st April 2019.

Price includes all meals from Tuesday evening 25th through to Monday morning 1st. Transfers to and from airport and from hotel to ploughing site, one full day excursion, entry to the Championships on both days, ticket for Sunday Gala Dinner and Prizegiving Ceremony.

Draw for Plots
Draw for plots will be held on Thursday evening, 29th March and Friday evening, 30th March in the Ferrycarrig Hotel.
Competitors Plot Numbers
Each plot will be numbered and each competitor will have a plot number.
Each competitor’s plot will be fitted with signs showing the name of the competitor and nationality.
Parade of Tractors
Before the start of the Championships, all competitors will be lined up for a parade. The order will be decided by the Parade Marshals. The competitors will be instructed by the Parade Marshalls as to where they should line up.
Briefing of Competitors
After the draw for plots, the competitors will be briefed about specifics around the Championships and the parade. Raised questions will be answered
Practical Information during your stay.
Weather conditions – Average daily temperatures in March can vary from 46F – 54F (7C-12C). However, Ireland is famous for having 4 seasons in one day so you should bring suitable clothing and rainwear.
Water – Water is safe to drink from the tap
Internet – Internet access for competitors/visitors is available at the hotel.
Communications – the International dialling code for Ireland is +353. Please check with your mobile phone provider regarding tariffs before arriving.
Emergency Services – to contact the Police (Gardai), Fire Brigade or Ambulance services in an emergency please dial 999.
Driving in Ireland – Seat belt use is mandatory for all drivers and passengers in Ireland. Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to sit in the front seat. Drivers are prohibited from talking, texting or emailing on mobile phones or other devices while behind the wheel. Ireland has a very strict zero tolerance for drink driving. Bicyclists have priority over cars when turning onto side streets.
Speed Limit – In cities and towns, the speed limit is 50km/h unless otherwise posted. There are a lot of residential areas with a posted 30km/h speed limit to protect children and pedestrians who live in the neighbourhood. On normal two-lane highways the limit is 100 km/h and the suggested speed limit on Motorways is 120km/h.
